CORINPHILA veilingen

About us

From Wiggers de Vries to Corinphila

In 1974 the late Wim V. M. Wiggers de Vries takes over the stamp auction house Postema and gives the company his name. At this time Gerard J. Garritsen already works at Wiggers de Vries. He takes over the company in 1988. After 25 years on the Singel in Amsterdam, the company settled in Amstelveen in 1998.

In 2010, the Global Philatelic Network Group takes over the company and partners up with internationally renowned Stamp Auction Companies in Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and the United States. At that time Wiggers de Vries is renamed Corinphila Veilingen, Corporation Internationale Philatélie, as a subsidiary of the stamp auction house Corinphila Auktionen AG in Zurich, the oldest one in Switzerland (founded in 1921, stamp auctions since 1925). The respected and trusted auction house Corinphila Veilingen can call itself now truly an international stamp auction house.

Going once, going twice ... sold!

Today Corinphila Veilingen holds two major international auctions per year at its own premises in Amstelveen. These auctions can be followed live worldwide via the internet and more and more customers bid online from the comfort of their home using Corinphila's live bidding program. Each auction consists of over 4,000 lots, including stamps, postal history, picture postcards, coins, medals, banknotes and philatelic literature as well as lots and collections.

Corinphila Veilingen philosophy is to achieve best results for our consignors. Our in-house specialists as well as colleagues at our affiliated companies allow us to valuate the material on the highest level of expertise. This includes four philatelists (stamps), a numismatist (coins) and a deltiologist (picture postcards) at our Amstelveen location. Their extensive experience enables us to present each consignment on the worldwide auction market for best results.

For each auction we prepare one or more full colour auction catalogues that are sent to several thousand collectors and dealers worldwide and are also available online on our website. Regular newsletters and posts on social media keep our customers and those of our affiliated companies up-to-date of the current auction offers. In addition all of our auctions are placed on internationally renowned philatelic collectable sites like PhilaSearchStamp Circuit and Delcampe
