Victoria 9d. bistre plate 2 lettered EL, a very fresh lower marginal copy with inscription - 15 Shillings per Sheet of 20 - unused with original gum with a minor toned spot, with certificate Peter Holcombe 1990, cat.v. £ 5800
The marginal single EL offered herewith originally adjoined (pre 1960) one of the most famous multiples of the 1862, 9d., the splendid mint bottom marginal block of 6, DI/EK, from the 'Maximus' collection (= Ron Lea, 1970) and the Sir Gawaine Baillie collection (2004, then realised GBP 20,700!)
