4d. pale red (2), 6d. lilac and 2d. blue used on underpaid entire from London 9-feb-1863 (datestamp on reverse), via Marseille to the Dutch Settlement Padang, Isle of Sumatra, East Indies. The cover was originally franked with the 4d. and 2d. making an insufficient total of 6d., then RETURNED FOR POSTAGE with the AMOUNT DEFICIT of 10d. noted in ms. and the 6d. affixed over the red deficit handstamp (uncancelled) and the 4d. cancelled London E.C.
