Benjamin Franklin 30 cents orange (2x) on cover from New York ?-3-1861 to Paris, fine/very fine with 1988 APS and 2021 William Crowe certificates stating: They are genuine stamps (originally a pair, genuinely used on this cover paying the quadruple rate via British service entering France at Calais. The stamps with black grid cancels and tied to the cover (from which they have been removed and replaced) with a red "New York Paid 48" credit marking. The cover, which has been cleaned and has small tears, with Paris backstamps.
