1860-91, Collection of Queen Victoria Chalon Head stamps, 6 d. grey-violet pair (SG 46, repaired), 1 d. brick red (3, SG 57/58), 2 d. yellow-green (2, SG 60), 2 d. slate-green (SG 61), 4 d. pale blue (SG 62), 6 d. bright violet (SG 138), stamps are mint hinged or mint regummed. Minor faults but still a fine and attractive group (10). SG £ 4.100

Extensive range of 1 d. red with blocks of four or larger, many items with imperf. between stamp and margin or with double perforation varieties, marginal singles. 2 d. plum incl. blocks of four with many ex Lancaster collection and a study of perf. 3 d. brown two single and pair, 6 d. carmine incl. a Cooke monogram "CA" single and block of four etc. An extensive and generally very fine collection

1837, Folded envelope with content 2/5½ unpaid and twice forwarded ship letter to Edinburgh, ms. “1st Ship after the Lloyds”. Rate 1/8 and re-rated 2/8 and 3/9 ½ d. mail tax upon forwarding cross counties. On reverse 22 May and 24 May Edinburgh passing through forwarding, where “POSTAGE TO EDINBURGH NOT PAID” handstamp applied, tiny flaw. Fine postal history to Scotland on exhibition page
