Veiling 257 september 2023
Onze 257e veiling bevat o.a. een gespecialiseerde en indrukwekkende collectie Bosnië van D.M. van Gelderen (proeven, variëteiten, tandingen). Daarnaast bevat de veiling omvangrijke collecties Italië, Latijns Amerika en Polen en diverse collecties en voorraden van andere landen. Voor de literatuurspecialist biedt deze veiling ook een keur aan betere literatuur en oude veilingcatalogi aan.
De afdeling Nederland en Overzeese Rijksdelen is samengesteld uit het 2e gedeelte van de verzamelaar C. Avezaat (enkelfrankeringen en fdc's). Bovendien wordt het 2e gedeelte van de collectie C. van Hoek aangeboden (postgeschiedenis). Deze naamcollecties worden ondersteund door een omvangrijke afdeling losse nummers, collecties en voorraden die door onze andere inzenders is aangeleverd.

1944-1945 collection of Japanese POW correspondance (39 letters) including numerous censor seals and stamps. Contents mainly in English and written on rice/ordinary paper. The letters originate from the following camps/'civil assembly centers': Hoten (3), Shanghai (7), Shanghai Civil Assembly Centers (7), Lunghwa (1), Chapei (2), Pootung (2), Haiphong (5), Tachibana (1), Taiwan (8) Correspondance includes letters from POWs (including censored letter from the famous general Jonathan Wainwright who was held prisoner in Taiwan), Red Cross letters, family members etc. Topics largly relate to (relief) goods, shortage of food/goods, forwarded messages etc. Neatly described in small box

The letters originate from the following cities: Hakodate (4), Tokyo (2), Osaka (12), Zentsuji (6), Fukuoka (5), Hiroshima (3) and Chosen (Korea, 4). Correspondance includes letters from POWs (including Dutch), Red Cross Committee members, family members etc. Topics largly relate to the frustrating lack of communications, medicins etc., but letters of gratitude are also present, Neatly described.
