De 256e veiling omvat uitgebreide collecties en voorraden Nederland, het eerste deel van de omvangrijke collectie C. Avezaat (enkelfrankeringen en 1e-dagbrieven) en het tweede deel van de collectie puntstempels van P. van Alteren. Tevens is er wederom een uitgebreid segment buitenlandse collecties en voorraden (beter Franse koloniën), munten en prentbriefkaarten.

1898/1964 collection postal history of Israel starting with Austrian, Turkish, French and German post offices in Israel (about 18 postcards). Followed by the British occupation of Palestine (incl. about 35 covers and postcards), Interim Period including JNF stamps/sets with Haifa and Tel Aviv overprints on stamps and covers (12x) and about 13 Transjordan covers used in Arab-controlled areas in Israel, nicely arranged in 2 albums

1944-1945 collection of Japanese POW correspondance (36 letters) including numerous censor seals and stamps written in Japanese and/or English and mainly on rice paper. The letters originate from the following cities: Hakodate (4), Tokyo (2), Osaka (12), Zentsuji (6), Fukuoka (5), Hiroshima (3) and Chosen (Korea, 4). Correspondance includes letters from POWs (including Dutch), Red Cross Committee members, family members etc. Topics largly relate to the frustrating lack of communications, medicins etc., but letters of gratitude are also present. Neatly described and of historic significance!
